Welcome to the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland quiz. Your task is to choose a chapter from the book, convert it to an HTML file by putting in all the appropriate tags, import it into FrontPage, create a style sheet for it, and add the appropriate illustrations.
The text file of the book and the Tennile illustrations are courtesy of Project Gutenberg. Other illustrations may be found from the links on Dave Neal's page.
Choose one chapter from the book, and use Wordpad to turn it into an HTML file by putting in the proper tags (e.g., <HTML>, <TITLE>, <H1> and so forth.). Make sure you give the page an appropriate title.
Save the file as a text file with a and appropriate file name (e.g., "alice", "wonderland", etc.) with a "txt" extension.
Import the file into FrontPage, then change the file name extension to "htm" or "html".
Create and link a style sheet that complements the text but
makes the text readable (as defined by your teacher).
*If possible, constrain the text so that it doesn't
create unreadable long lines on high resolution monitors.
*Use one of the illustrations--lightened--as an appropriate background
inserted by the
style sheet.
Insert the appropriate illustrations with an appropriate
caption at the correct spot in the
text.
*Make sure you cite the source of the illustrations.
*Have the text flow around the images if possible.
