Prime Time Final ProjectDue Date: February 1419, 2003 At the beginning of this unit, you chose your special number between 10 and 100 and wrote numerous things about it in the CoWeb. As you worked through the investigations, you used the concepts you learned to write new things about your number. Now it is time for you to show off your special number. Write a story, compose a poem, create a series of drawings, or find some other way to highlight your number. I will use your project to determine how well you understand the concepts in this unit, so be sure to include all of the things you learned while working through the investigations. You may want to start by looking back through your journal to find the things you wrote after each investigation and during the homework. I expect you to use the vocabulary and concepts from the unit to show everything that you know about your special number and about what you have learned. Use the vocabulary in such a way that the meaning is obvious. You should use approximately three-quarters of the terms given on the vocabulary sheet from class.
You may turn in your project as a hard copy no larger than letter size or, if it is electronic, use the digital drop box in Blackboard (select "tools" on the left, then digital drop box). However, if you are doing it electronically, it must be turned in prior to class. Format
You may create an electronic project or paper project. If your project requires a presentation, see me to arrange the time. Scoring The scoring rubric I will use is below; the final part of your project is for you to assess your project using the rubric. Your assessment should be about one paragraph long and explain why you gave yourself the score you did. This will be on a separate sheet that you turn in to me. Make sure that your project reflects the amount of time you were supposed to work on the project instead of regular homework. I have also given you the scoring sheet that I will use to check for all components. You will have homework time for this project and you will have some class time. Your results should reflect the amount of time you have available. Although your creativity will help support your project, the mathematical ideas you express in your project are paramount. You may want to go to the library or Internet and use resources from those. Make sure you cite your sources! Vocabulary
