Keyboarding Skills is a one semester course required for all sixth grade students and for transferring seventh and eighth grade students who do not have keyboarding on their transcripts. The course, taught by Ms. Arnote or Mr. Fincher, meets every other day.
The emphasis in the course is on developing good keyboarding techniques and habits. On average, a student improves his or her keyboarding speed by about fifteen words a minute, regardless of his or her speed at the beginning of the semester.
